Inside the
Riverside Museum

SPT is proud to support the Riverside Museum which has officially opened its doors to the public.

The museum features not one but two separate Subway exhibits complete with original carriages painstakingly restored to their former glory inside and out.

John Messner, the museum’s Curator of Transport and Technology, is in charge of the Subway, trains and buses collection.

You can see inside the museum above and hear his thoughts on the Riverside’s new Subway experience.

“Families and children can try out being the Gripman, who was the driver of the old Subway.”

SPT is an official patron of the museum, which is situated on Glasgow's spectacular waterfront and is a quick 7-minute walk from Partick Subway Station.

It was designed by internationally-renowned architect, Zaha Hadid - her first major public building in the UK.

The building also houses artefacts which reflect Glasgow's rich industrial heritage at the heart of the River Clyde and the renovated Tall Ship is berthed just alongside.

The Riverside Museum appeal is still ongoing and everyone making a donation will be acknowledged on digital touch screens inside the venue.
